Basic t-shirt marketing ideas

You digitized your idea, uploaded it on ubW and now you’re not sure how to help your seed grow. It’s simple! Just buy our “How to market t-shirts” 144 CD set for only 5 easy payments $19.95! Kidding. That’s not real. We don’t sell CD’s. But we can offer a few basic suggestions on how you can generate some traffic to your design to increase votes or sales.

  1. Tell people
Ask them to vote for and buy your design if it is selected. Let them know about the local ministry it is helping. It’s amazing what you can do when you just talk to people.
  2. Use the design page sharing tools
On your design’s page you’ll see “Share” or “Share this tee”. These are links to a wide range of ways to share information across the Internet. Just pick the ones you use most to share other types of information with people you know.
  3. Facebook
You can easily post your design to your Facebook page using the Share option on any product page. Ask your friends to share the link with their friends.

Embed links to your design pages in status updates (be sure to use "http://" so it’ll actually show up as a link).

Upload it to your photo gallery and share that.

Create a Facebook page for yourself as a designer. This is good if you want to keep it separate from your profile. Then suggest the page to your friends so that they can become fans. Post your designs to the page along with links back to your design pages on ubWitness.com so they can vote and buy.
  4. MySpace
Use the Share option on any product page to post designs to your MySpace profile.

MySpace gives you more control and tools to display your designs. You can edit your profile to display pictures of your designs and embed links back to your design pages on ubWitness.com in those images.

Use Photobucket to rotate images of your designs.

Use the status tools to provide links and remind people to go to ubWitness.com and vote.
  5. Twitter
Again, use the Share option on any product page to post designs to your Twitter account.

Twitter is a great notification and reminder tool, but it's important not to overdo it. Asking people to vote for your design every hour on the hour is a bit too much. However you can provide notifications that you posted a new design on ubWitness.com with a link to the design. Also post periodic status updates on your ranking and encourage people to take a minute to vote for your design.
  6. Blogs
If you have a blog then write a post about your design and talk about what inspired you to develop it. Is it funny? Does it have a special meaning to you? What tools did you use to make it? Did you learn a new technique in some software while making the design? And as always, provide links back to your design on ubWitness.com. Write about anything that will inspire people to visit your design pages on ubWitness.com and to vote and buy them. If you know other bloggers then ask them to write about your design. They can treat it like an “interview the artist” post.
  7. Text, emails, phone calls, other social media platforms, etc. “You do not have, because you do not ask God.” James 4:2
